Invitation to Register for the Symposium on “Technology, Security, and Development: Problems and Prospects”
The National Defence College (NDC) of the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), in partnership with the Malawi Computer Emergency Response Team (MWCERT) of the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), is pleased to announce the upcoming Symposium on “Technology, Security, and Development: Problems and Prospects,” which will focus on the theme: “Harnessing Emerging Technology to Achieve Malawi Vision 2063 (MW2063).” This pivotal event will be held from Thursday, 28 November to Friday, 29 November 2024, at the Bingu wa Mutharika International Convention Centre, Lilongwe, Malawi in Mbidzi Hall.
The symposium will bring together thought leaders and experts to explore the challenges and opportunities posed by emerging technologies in the realms of national security, especially cybersecurity, sustainable development, and economic transformation. As Malawi strives to meet the aspirations of Vision 2063, this event will provide a platform for critical discussions on how emerging technologies can drive progress in key sectors such as agriculture, health, education, mining, and national security. The event will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and focus group sessions led by renowned experts and thought leaders in technology, national security, and development. Topics will include the role of technology in sustainable development, the potential risks and opportunities of artificial intelligence, and the critical intersection between innovation and security.
