Strengthening Bonds Beyond the Classroom: NDC Hosts Spouses’ End-of-Year Get-Together

The National Defence College (NDC) – Malawi recently hosted a Spouses’ End-of-Year Get-Together, bringing together spouses and families of course members in a warm and relaxed setting designed to celebrate connection, support, and shared purpose.

The gathering was held as part of NDC’s commitment to fostering a strong and inclusive community that recognises the vital role spouses and families play in supporting officers and participants throughout the demanding academic year. Beyond formal learning and strategic engagement, the College acknowledges that resilience, wellbeing, and national service are strengthened when families feel valued and connected.

The event provided an opportunity for spouses to interact, share experiences, and build lasting relationships, while reflecting on the year’s journey and achievements. It also served as a platform to strengthen social bonds among the wider NDC family, reinforcing unity, mutual understanding, and a spirit of togetherness.

As the year draws to a close, the National Defence College remains committed to nurturing not only excellence in leadership and security studies, but also a supportive environment that extends beyond the lecture halls. The Spouses’ End-of-Year Get-Together stood as a meaningful reminder that strong institutions are built on strong relationships—both professional and personal.

The National Defence College – Malawi wishes all its members and their families a restful festive season and continued success in the year ahead.
